I was in Schramm Hall at UNL, I had just gotten out of the shower gettting ready for my 8:30 English Lit class. I always watched the news as I was getting ready for class to see the weather forcast for the day, but all I kept getting were bits and pieces to what was goin on in NYC. It was not unti l got to English Lit and some other students had turned on the t.v. that I realized what had happend. The rest of my classes were cancelled that day and as many of you the rest of my day is a complete blur.

I was listening to NPR in a tractor and heard the first reports. I went to the house to watch the coverage on TV. Later in the day I had the thought 'Even out here in Nebraska we will know someone who knew someone in the twin towers.' (Six degrees of separation)...It was the next day that we learned that Julie Geis had been in the second tower. She grew up on the farm 1/2 mile down the road from ours. She didn't make it out.

I was in Abel Hall at UNL. I had just gotten out of the shower and was standing in a towel in the middle of my dorm room watching the Today Show when the first plane hit. I finished getting dressed and when down the hall to find my friend Dan. He and I sat at breakfast in complete silence with the big screen TV on the dinning hall watching the news reports. After breakfast I walked to Political Science class. The entire lecture hall was filled with students and all of us where watching the news. I am not sure when I left class or how I got home. Every thing else after that is a blur.
