I went home today for graduation parties of people that weren’t even in jr high when I graduated… so very old. Mom and dad had a brand new puppy that they got from Grandma and Grandpa H. Aparently the dog that was hanging around had a litter of four. The farm had been in need of a new animal ever since the dairy cows left over a year ago; those mangy cats don’t count. I named the dog Sprocket. He’s stil kind of shy, but seems to be doing fine. From his howling it sounds like we got lucky and ended up with a hound mix instead of a rottweiler. There’s a couple more pictures on Flickr.

This post is to prevent my top-most from being the bitter one from yesterday.
When I invited Brigitte to my house warming party she asked if I would like alcohol or a plant. I opted for the plant. She warned me that it would be an incredibly small plant since she was saving for a new bumper (detailed on the Catty Girls Discuss podcast). Small it is but I’m glad there’s one more living thing in my apartment (not counting what happened to my milk).

This is an undoctored screenshot from a few years ago on Hot or Not. I thought it was hilarious, so I saved it. Enjoy!

Little guy was sitting on my door step when I came home monday evening. I live on the third floor, so I knew it was going to take some effort to get the bird outside. I approached the bird slowly with my arms outstretched attempting to shoo it towards the stairwell. Like the cows of my childhood… he went straight for the closed window (maybe it wasn’t like a cow). I wasn’t having any of this, so I just grabbed a trash bag and caught him pretty easily. Within moments he was outside with only minimal stress. The return linkage on the door had been broken. Well, I’m all shored up for good deeds for the rest of the year. expect the worst ;O)

So, I got my hackaday post done over lunch today, my first how-to went up on engadget and I was feeling pretty good so I decided to take it easy this evening. I’m going to be looking for a job soon and felt I should shave off the beard (It was also bugging me). Thrilling conclusion after the jump! (more…)
